We’re growing and looking for a Senior Technical Support Engineer who will provide support to our customers with exceptional service, efficiency, and diligence.

This is a full-time, on-site position.

About the Position:

The primary role of the Senior Technical Support Engineer is to resolve technical issues reported by customers, implement solutions, act as an escalation point to the Support Team members, and assist in projects.

This role requires the ability to think outside the box, and provide solutions with minimal supervision once fully on-boarded.

All WYRE team members share the responsibility of customer support. This includes answering support calls, responding to tickets, and being assigned to high-level projects as needed.

All Support Engineers may be dispatched to customer sites to troubleshoot computer and network issues that cannot be resolved remotely.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Respond immediately to customer issues and provide excellent customer service. (All technical staff are involved in end-user support.)
  • Utilize IT ticketing system to track support requests and resolutions
  • Contribute to the improvement of support processes and documentation
  • Coordinate service calls and PTO requests
  • Manage the Support ticket queue
  • Serve as a mentor to junior team members
  • Follow up on open support requests
  • Perform administration of server, storage, and network infrastructure, both on-prem and in cloud
  • Manage user identities and access across multiple domains
  • Analyze security alerts and escalate as necessary
  • Respond to monitoring alerts and troubleshoot issues
  • Assist in management of endpoint and email security
  • Configure and deploy workstations, network equipment, and servers
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware and software (Windows, MacOS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.)
  • Manage backup software, hardware, and media
  • Carry out technical projects and on-site work as assigned
  • Stay up to date on new and emerging products, services, and technology

Qualifications:

  • Experience mentoring and motivating team members
  • Experience coordinating team schedules
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a can-do attitude
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an enterprise environment
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Support Team
  • Lead or some form of leadership role
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability
  • Strong knowledge of various computer and server operating systems
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals. Deeper networking expertise is a plus: routers, firewalls, and switches (Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Cisco, etc.).
  • Experience in administration of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID
  • Experience with ticketing and remote-access software
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools
  • Experience working in an MSP environment is a plus
  • Industry-standard certifications preferred (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.)
  • College degree in Information Technology or relevant education is a plus
