IT Consulting in Chattanooga

Whether you're looking to turn over some—or all—of your technology headaches, WYRE can help build a solution that fits.

IT Consulting and Managed Services Provider (MSP)

Some businesses are looking for help with all of their IT. We call this “fully managed."

Others only need help in an area or two—"comanaged.” (This includes projects.)

We asked CEO Tyler York to explain how WYRE works with both scenarios:

“ Imagine IT functions as a layer cake."

"In fully managed, WYRE is the whole cake.” This means we handle everything from infrastructure and networking to cybersecurity and compliance.

“Comanaged is when the customer handles one or more of the layers, and we do the rest. Most often, that’s the strategic-leadership layer, so the inverse of CIO as a Service.

"Sometimes, it’s that and frontline support, and we’re the systems-and-network team. Other times, we just do the support side.

“It’s very flexible, which is why it’s one of our most popular services.”

Banking

For today's banking industry, ensuring uninterrupted services is a more complex undertaking than ever. From fortifying digital banking platforms to protecting sensitive customer data, the challenges are unending.

WYRE can support your bank in areas ranging from network and accounts optimization to cybersecurity enhancement.

  • Deployed M365 Active Directory certificate services for self-managed public key infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management. This implementation simplified certificate management, reduced reliance on third-party services, and ensured compliance with security policies, ultimately strengthening the organization's overall cybersecurity posture.
  • Helped transition mainframe application to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems and enabled scaling to over 2,000 concurrent user sessions. This shift improved performance, reduced costs, and enhanced system flexibility, allowing for more efficient resource management and better user experiences.

Educational Institutions

Maintaining seamless operations is a must for educational institutions. From robust online learning platforms to ensuring the security of student information, the demands never stop.

If you're looking for help with network optimization, cybersecurity measures, and the latest technological advancements to enhance the educational experience, WYRE would love to talk with you!

  • Helped a local community college implement change-control processes. This ensured consistent quality and stability through risk management and minimization of disruptions during changes.
  • Audited existing M365 Active Directory environment and condensed domain controllers to address replication issues. This consolidation not only enhanced reliability and performance, but also streamlined management, reduced complexity, and enhanced overall network efficiency.
  • Patched and addressed Linux Common Vulnerabilities and Exposure (CVEs) on Red Hat servers to reduce the risk of breaches and build a more stable and secure server environment.
  • Created more robust business process automation for importing student transcripts. This improvement allowed staff to focus on more strategic initiatives, ultimately improving the student experience and institutional efficiency.
  • Audited M365 Active Directory environment for inactive user accounts and cleaned up over 140,000 of those accounts.

Manufacturing

For modern manufacturing, maintaining seamless operations is a multidimensional challenge. From establishing resilient network infrastructure to safeguarding critical systems, the demands are relentless.

When regional manufacturing companies encounter these difficulties, they turn to WYRE for assistance in everything from network optimization and cybersecurity enhancement to technological modernization.

Some projects we've helped with include:

  • Performed a complete wireless site survey on nearly half a million square feet of manufacturing space. This survey laid the groundwork for modern inventory management integration with the ERP system, ensuring seamless operations across the production line.
  • Guided the implementation of wire-feed tracking by working side by side with the software developer to build a system that monitored the feed on welding machines.
  • Bolstered cybersecurity defenses by deploying our comprehensive suite of services (EDR (endpoint detection and response) and MDR (managed detection and response)). Additionally, we tightened network security measures, integrated Microsoft 365 for enhanced productivity and security, mandated multifactor authentication (MFA) for added layers of protection, and conducted in-person user training sessions to raise awareness and promote best practices.
  • Collaborated closely with a private equity firm during a pivotal acquisition phase. By providing comprehensive cybersecurity insights and guidance, we facilitated the due-diligence process, alleviating concerns and instilling confidence. As a result, the company emerged as the cybersecurity benchmark within the PE firm's portfolio.
  • Collaborated with the ERP vendor to orchestrate and optimize a seamless ERP deployment, ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness in integrating critical business processes.
  • Ensured the network was prepared for the implementation of fully autonomous robotic welding machines, alongside the integration of a new, teachable robotic welding machine.

Utilities

Utility companies face enormous technology challenges. From safeguarding against cyberthreats to ensuring the reliability of critical systems, the demands on these essential service providers are immense.

From cybersecurity to legacy modernization, WYRE always helps.

  • Performed an in-depth penetration test and provided a comprehensive report with recommendations to close an enormous number of vulnerabilities.
  • Brought the organization into compliance with energy infrastructure regulations.
  • Located and remediated personally identifiable information, or PII, breaches.
  • Migrated all users to Microsoft 365 and implemented Intune, an endpoint management solution, for PCs.
  • Moved from old-school AT&T IMAP email and increased mailbox sizes by approximately fifty times.

Changes like these can help bring your utility company up to date with modern cybersecurity practices and allow you to purchase a cyber risk insurance policy.
