About the Position:
This entry-level role is the most customer-facing unit of WYRE’s IT service offering. Level I IT technicians are on the front lines, taking the first pass at resolving the bulk of technical issues reported by customers. Technicians in this role are vital to the daily operations and support of our customers and help us meet our goals of first-call resolution.
All technical team members at WYRE share responsibility for support, regardless of level. The primary duty at this level is triage of support calls and tickets in the office. Once trained, Level I techs may be dispatched to customer sites to aid in troubleshooting computer and network issues that cannot be resolved remotely.
Our team is composed of many subject-matter experts and deeply experienced engineers who are always ready to help if an issue needs escalation, as well as empower technicians to learn and grow. Opportunities to be involved in more advanced technical projects abound, and technicians of all levels participate in projects that suit their interests and skills.
Expectations:
- Respond immediately to customer issues across all communication methods (email, phone, text message, etc.) and provide excellent customer service
- Utilize IT ticketing system to track support requests and resolutions
- Perform follow-ups to support requests
- Help meet goal of first-call resolution whenever possible
- Troubleshoot computer software and hardware issues, including Windows, MacOS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.
- Configure and deploy workstations, user accounts, and mobile devices
- Respond to monitoring alerts and troubleshoot network issues
- Printer configuration and troubleshooting
- Employ user education to reduce recurring issues
- Carry out technical projects and on-site work as assigned
- Create and maintain technical and process documentation
About You:
- Motivated, love to learn, and looking to grow in the IT world
- Strong interpersonal skills and a willing attitude
- An IT generalist at the core; any specialized skills and interests are a bonus
- 1–3 years of experience working in IT, or equivalent education
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Exceptional problem-solving ability
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and change gears quickly and easily
- Possess basic troubleshooting skills for MS Windows 10/11
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure AD
- Familiarity with cybersecurity software a plus (Avanan, Blackpoint, SentinelOne, Huntress, etc.)
Certifications, college degree, or relevant education in IT are a plus
